The practices will align to focus on patient-centered care, education and medical advancements between OrthoIndy’s 12 locations and Indiana Hand to Shoulder Center’s 10 locations, according to the release.

“This alignment works to ensure that we will continue to serve the community’s orthopedic needs as an independent physician practice, which we believe is vital to Indiana’s health care ecosystem,” John Ryan, CEO of OrthoIndy, said in the release. “In a world where we more often read headlines about health systems acquiring physician practices or physician practices selling to private equity, we believe that now more than ever independent physician practices are the key to delivering the highest quality, reasonably priced care to the communities we serve.”

According to the release, the integration of practices will occur gradually to continue current patient scheduling and physician availability. It is expected to be completed in the first half of 2025.
