The fifth annual report from the AAOS includes data from 36,296 shoulder and elbow procedures, which were performed between 2015 and 2023 by 424 surgeons at 82 participating facilities.
A new feature to the 2024 report includes insights into 1,544 elbow procedures such as neuroplasty, transposition, radial head arthroplasty, implant and hardware removal and total elbow arthroplasty, according to the release.
The report includes data from 19,357 total shoulder arthroplasty procedures, as well as 15,376 rotator cuff procedures. The report also includes an analysis of patient-reported outcome measure tools such as the Veterans RAND 12-item health survey and theAmerican Shoulder and Elbow Surgeons score.
