Hospital for Special Surgery announced Constantine A. Demetracopoulos, MD, as incoming chief of the foot and ankle service, according to a press release.
Demetracopoulos succeeds Matthew M. Roberts, MD, who served as chief of the foot and ankle service at Hospital for Special Surgery (HSS) since 2013.
Demetracopoulos is an associate professor of orthopedic surgery and director of the total ankle replacement center at HSS in New York. He earned his medical degree from Johns Hopkins School of Medicine and completed his residency at HSS and his fellowship at Duke University Medical Center.
“I am honored to lead and collaborate with colleagues who are top specialists in orthopedics and to continue the record of excellence of the foot and ankle service,” Demetracopoulos said in the release. “Our multidisciplinary model of evidence-based care will keep HSS at the forefront and offer patients access to advanced diagnostic tools and treatment options to ensure the best possible outcomes.”
The appointment will be effective Aug. 1, according to the release.
