The American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine announced Christopher C. Kaeding, MD, as president at the AOSSM Annual Meeting, according to a press release.
Kaeding, who succeeds Dean C. Taylor, MD, COL (ret) USA, is the Judson Wilson Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery at The Ohio State University College of Medicine, the executive director of The Ohio State University Sports Medicine Center and chief of the division of sports medicine in the department of orthopedics at The Ohio State University.
Kaeding graduated from Northwestern University where he earned his medical degree and completed his residency in orthopedic surgery. He then completed his fellowship training in sports medicine at the Cleveland Clinic.
“It has been my highest honor, and I am humbled to assume the role of president of AOSSM, an organization whose mission, membership and leadership I’ve always viewed with the utmost respect and admiration,” Kaeding said in the release. “I am committed to doing all that I can to be the best steward of the society’s mission and resources, as well as enhance its leadership in the orthopedic sports medicine arena through strategic alliances and exceptional educational programs.”
Kaeding will serve a 1-year term as president of AOSSM.
