For the 15th straight year, Hospital for Special Surgery has been named the best hospital in the United States for orthopedic care, according to the latest U.S. News & World Report “Best Hospitals” survey.
With a specialty score of 100 out of 100, Hospital for Special Surgery in New York City topped the annual Best Hospitals for Orthopedics rankings, which included 1,647 hospitals ranked for various orthopedic procedures such as spine, limb, joint and other musculoskeletal and connective tissue surgeries.
“Choosing the right hospital to match your needs shouldn't be a guessing game,” Ben Harder, chief of health analysis and managing editor at U.S. News, said in the release.
“The 2024 to 2025 edition of Best Hospitals provides patients and their families clear, data-driven insights on hospital performance and empowers Americans to choose the facility best suited to their specific health care needs.”
Hospital for Special Surgery (HSS) topped the rankings in orthopedics, followed by Mayo Clinic-Rochester, NYU Langone Orthopedic Hospital, New York-Presbyterian Hospital- Columbia and Cornell, and Cedars-Sinai Medical Center.
“This recognition reflects 161 years of specialization and the skill and dedication of thousands of HSS colleagues who provide or support care for our patients,” Bryan T. Kelly, MD, MBA, president, CEO and surgeon-in-chief emeritus of HSS, said in the release from HSS. “HSS is a place that inspires and empowers extraordinary people to seek and solve challenges big and small to make HSS and our patients better every day.”
