VIDEO: J. Robert Gladden Orthopaedic Society panel addresses health disparities
DENVER — In this video, Kwadwo Adu Owusu-Akyaw, MD, FAAOS, discusses takeaways from a panel at the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine that addressed health disparities in the specialty.
“The biggest takeaway from this session is that what happens to any of us happens to all of us,” he told Healio. “The inequality that affects some people in our communities affects the general health of all of us.”
He added, “We need to work together to build a situation and build a country where everyone has equal access to health care, especially in sports medicine, but globally throughout all.”
