Stryker announced a definitive agreement to acquire Artelon Inc., as well as its portfolio of soft tissue fixation products for sports medicine and lower extremity orthopedic surgery, according to a company press release.
Stryker will expand its sports medicine and lower extremity offerings with Artelon’s range of solutions for ligament and tendon reconstruction, according to the release.
“Artelon’s proven product portfolio and differentiated offerings will enhance our ability to innovate and serve our customers,” Tim Lanier, president of the trauma and extremities division at Stryker, said in the release. “The addition of Artelon’s products to our already robust foot and ankle and sports medicine product portfolios will fuel our goal of establishing comprehensive offerings for customers in these segments. We share a common dedication to integrity, quality and advancing the knowledge of health care providers to achieve the best clinical outcomes and rebuild patients’ lives.”
The release noted the companies will continue to operate as separate entities until the transaction officially closes.
