OrthoPediatrics Corp. has launched a new pediatric nailing platform designed for treating pediatric patients with fractures and deformities in the lower extremities, according to a company press release.
The PNP Tibia platform previously received FDA 510(k) clearance in September.
The system includes rigid cannulated nails with diameters ranging in size from 7 mm to 12 mm, as well as specialized instrumentation to accommodate various surgical techniques, according to the release.
Commenting on the first surgical cases performed during the limited launch, Joe Hauser, president of the trauma and deformity correction business of the company, said in the release, “It is extremely gratifying to see the system perform successfully in two unique and challenging cases.”
