OrthoCarolina has announced Leo Spector, MD, MBA, as its next CEO, according to a press release.
Spector, a board-certified, fellowship-trained orthopedic spine surgeon, succeeds Bruce Cohen, MD, who has stepped down as CEO and will return to practice at OrthoCarolina’s Foot & Ankle Institute. According to the release, Spector will assume the role of CEO at the beginning of 2024.
Spector has served various roles during his 17-year tenure with OrthoCarolina, most recently serving as chief quality officer, a member of the executive committee, chair of the quality and value committee, and co-fellowship director at the OrthoCarolina Spine Center.
“My goal is to retain and attract the highest-quality individuals and help enable their continued growth and success, so that together we can build a great team,” Spector said in the release. “As health care evolves, OrthoCarolina will continue to be a national leader in the transformation of musculoskeletal care delivery.
