Zimmer Biomet Holdings Inc. has appointed Wilfred van Zuilen as group president of Europe, Middle East and Africa, Mark Bezjak as president of the Americas and Nitin Goyal, MD, to the executive leadership team, according to a press release.

van Zuilen, who joined Zimmer Biomet in June 2021, will be responsible for sales, marketing and distribution in the Europe, Middle East and Africa region. He will also lead global research and development projects, according to the release.

Bezjak joined Zimmer Biomet in April of 2008. He will be responsible for commercial, downstream marketing and distribution activities in North America and Latin America, according to the release.

Goyal, a practicing hip and knee reconstruction surgeon, joined Zimmer Biomet in June 2021. He will be responsible for oversight of all global innovation, medical education, clinical affairs and reimbursement strategy.

van Zuilen, Bezjak and Goyal will all report directly to company president and CEO Ivan Tornos.

“The expansion of Zimmer Biomet’s executive leadership team coincides with our renewed focus on commercial execution and innovation to drive the company forward,” Tornos said in the release. “These appointments demonstrate the continued evolution of our business strategy as we remain focused on developing our team to drive value for patients, customers and all stakeholders,” Tornos added.
