Zimmer Biomet Holdings Inc. has announced the acquisition of Ossis, a medical device company that specializes in 3D hip replacement implants, according to a press release.
Zimmer Biomet had previously announced Ossis as its Asia Pacific partner for hip replacement and pelvic replacement implants.
“Combining Ossis's more than 16 years of clinical experience and engineering expertise with Zimmer Biomet's extensive network across Asia Pacific, Europe, Middle East and Africa demonstrates our commitment to bring transformative [medical technology] advancements to patients in need,” Sang Yi, president of the Asia Pacific group at Zimmer Biomet, said in the release. “We are pleased to partner with these patients and their physicians as we work toward our mission to alleviate pain and improve the quality of life for people around the world,” Yi added.
“Zimmer Biomet shares our ethos of innovative technology with a strong patient focus, and Ossis is thrilled to join Zimmer Biomet's established portfolio with cutting-edge solutions and expert capabilities,” Kelvin Hyland, managing director of Ossis, said in the release.
