LAS VEGAS — In this video from the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons Annual Meeting, Michael Brandon Gottschalk, MD, FAAOS, discussed the use of dynamic digital radiography to assess upper extremity injuries.
“For us, this is a novel use. Now when you look at patients, you can do this preoperatively as well as within the clinic, and you can see their motion and you diagnose them quickly,” Gottschalk said. “Prior to [dynamic digital radiography], there was no reference standard for how you diagnosed adhesive capsulitis. Our hope is [that] with the use of this technology, we are going to develop a standard of how to diagnose some of the pathologies that are a little bit harder,” he added.
