KOLOA, Hawaii — In this video from Orthopedics Today Hawaii, Christopher S. Ahmad, MD, detailed the evolution in the treatment of superior labrum anterior to posterior tears in overhead throwing athletes.

“The evolution of repair technique has been great. We now have percutaneous approaches that minimize morbidity to the rotator cuff, which is especially important to the throwing athlete,” he said. “The repair can be knotless. Knots can cause problems to the cartilage within the glenohumeral joint, and the knotless repair has been extremely beneficial,” Ahmad added.
