KOLOA, Hawaii — In this video from Orthopedics Today Hawaii, Rachel M. Frank, MD, spoke about treating shoulder instability in noncontact sport athletes, such as rock climbers, swimmers and gymnasts.
“The key in rock climbers is to not take too much [joint] capsule,” she said. “You don’t want to overtighten these athletes, as they need all of their range of motion. You have to think of them almost like an overhead athlete,” Frank added.
