The report highlights findings on several common orthopedic shoulder and elbow procedures, including the following:

  • Of the 10,302 total shoulder arthroplasty (TSA) procedures included in the report, 52.23% (n = 5,380) were reverse TSA.
  • The most frequent diagnoses for both TSA and revision TSA procedures were osteoarthritis and rotator cuff tears.
  • Arthroscopic rotator cuff repair (RCR) was the most common RCR technique (n = 3,974), followed by other open shoulder procedures (n = 2,460), open RCR (n = 210) and open RCR with acromioplasty (n = 179).
