For the 13th straight year, Hospital for Special Surgery has been named the top hospital in the United States for orthopedic care, according to the U.S. News & World Report “Best Hospitals 2022-2023” survey.
With a specialty score of 100 out of 100, Hospital for Special Surgery in New York City topped the annual Best Hospitals for Orthopedics rankings, which included 1,671 hospitals nationwide. The top 50 hospitals were ranked for success in treating challenging spinal surgeries and fusions, as well as limb, joint and other musculoskeletal issues. U.S. News & World Report also ranked the top performing hospitals for hip fracture, hip replacement and knee replacement.
Hospital for Special Surgery was followed by Mayo Clinic – Rochester, Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, NYU Langone Orthopedic Hospital and Rush University Medical Center to round out the top five in orthopedics rankings.
“For patients considering their options for where to get care, the Best Hospitals rankings are designed to help them and their medical professionals identify hospitals that excel in the kind of care they may need,” Ben Harder, chief of health analysis and managing editor at U.S. News, said in the release.
“The new cancer ratings provide patients facing surgery for prostate cancer or gynecological cancer with previously unavailable information to assist them in making a critical health care decision,” Harder added.
