Red Point Medical 3D receives FDA clearance for patient-specific bunion surgery system

Red Point Medical 3D has announced FDA 510(k) clearance for the Better Bunion, a patient-specific bunion surgery system, according to a press release.

The Better Bunion by Red Point Medical 3D (RPM-3D) uses custom 3D-printed models to display a guide for the desired correction, which allows for precise and efficient bone osteotomies and deformity reductions, according to the release.

“We have a well-rounded and experienced team and the requisite financial backing,” Ben Coburn, CEO of RPM-3D, said in the release. “We have several surgeons nationwide who have already signed up to incorporate RPM-3D technology into their surgical arsenal, and there is a robust plan in place for a speedy product launch,” Coburn added.
