VIDEO: Software shifts to more patient engagement
SAN DIEGO — In this video from the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons Annual Meeting, Dan Cane, discussed the trends in software in orthopedic clinics.
“One big trend that we are seeing in orthopedics in general is a shift to engaging the patient more persuasively. [This is] rather than just having software for the time that is the episode where they are in the practice, in the exam room, or in the ASC. What we are seeing is a better engagement model between the practice, the doctors and patients – that is contentious; that is self-scheduling; that is secure messaging; and that is communication that goes beyond just the boundaries of the practice. What we are finding is that orthopedics practices are realizing they can differentiate themselves by their patient engagement model,” he said.
