WAILEA, Hawaii — In this video from Orthopedics Today Hawaii 2021, Thomas F. Varecka, MD, spoke about the newest data on common hand and wrist injuries, such as distal radius fractures, carpal tunnel and scaphoid fractures.
“Traditionally, we have used a ‘wait-and-see’ approach by casting a patient and then following them up 2 or 3 weeks later with repeat imaging,” he said. “In the last several years, the efficacy and the financial benefits of early advanced imaging, such as CT scans and [magnetic resonance] scans, have proven to be valuable.”
