WAILEA, Hawaii — In this video from Orthopedics Today Hawaii 2021, Frank A. Liporace, MD, FAAOS, spoke about decreasing revisions when deciphering between a type B1 and B2 periprosthetic hip fractures.
“It is important to stress your implant well – even if it is to the point of cleaning out the shoulder of the implant and formally dislocating and checking,” he said. “In addition, if you have a loose cemented implant, these benefit from doing a revision plus or minus [open reduction and internal fixation].”
