WAILEA, Hawaii — In this video from Orthopedics Today Hawaii 2021, Anna M. Miller, MD, FAAOS, FACS, FAOA, spoke about how to fix posterior malleolus fractures.
“We are fixing posterior malleolus fractures that are smaller now than we used to, so the old 25% rule doesn’t necessarily apply anymore. When the smaller, posterior malleolus fractures exist, you have to worry about whether the syndesmosis is stable as opposed to the ankle joint itself, which is cause by larger fractures,” she said.
