Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia has been named the top hospital for pediatric orthopedics, according to a U.S. News & World Report press release.
With a specialty score of 100/100, Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) topped the 14th annual Best Children’s Hospitals rankings, which included 51 children’s orthopedic hospitals. Scores were based on each hospital’s success with complex fractures, surgical complications, infection prevention and other sports injuries, according to the release.
Boston Children’s Hospital, Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center, Children’s Hospital Los Angeles and Children’s Medical Center Dallas-Scottish Rite for Children rounded out the top five.
CHOP also landed at the No. 2 spot on the U.S. News & World Report’s 2020-2021 Honor Roll, a distinction given to pediatric centers with exceptionally high-quality care across multiple specialties, according to the release.
As the top hospital across four of 10 specialties, Boston Children’s Hospital claimed the No. 1 spot on the Honor Roll for the seventh straight year.
“Across our nation, health care professionals are striving against unprecedented challenges to provide the best possible care to each of their patients,” Ben Harder, chief of health analysis and managing editor at U.S. News, said in the press release. “The nurses, doctors and other professionals at the best children’s hospitals have demonstrated a track record of delivering top-notch care to children with diverse medical needs.”
