Journal of Shoulder and Elbow Surgery announced expansion, including rebranding and two new journals, according to the press release.

The open access option in Journal of Shoulder and Elbow Surgery (JSES) will be rebranded as JSES International and will focus on the international shoulder and elbow community. Pierre Mansat, MD, PhD, will continue to serve as editor in chief, according to the release.

One of the new journals is Seminars in Arthroplasty: JSES, which will be introduced in spring 2020 and will serve as an outlet for shoulder arthroplasty research with Theodore A. Blaine, MD, and J. Michael Waiter, MD, as co-editors in chief. JSES: Reviews, Reports and Techniques will become an outlet for shoulder and elbow registry reports, database mining articles, systematic reviews and meta-analysis with Edward V. Craig, MD, and John W. Sperling, MD, as co-editors in chief.

“The entire shoulder and elbow surgery community is excited about these new options for our surgeons and other providers,” William J. Mallon, MD, who will now serve as executive editor of the entire JSES Family of Journals, said in the release. “We look forward to serving all health care providers with an interest in shoulder and elbow surgery.”

Mallon will also continue to serve as editor in chief for Journal of Shoulder and Elbow Surgery following the expansion.
