KOLOA, Hawaii — At Orthopedics Today Hawaii, John D. Kelly IV, MD, spoke about preservation of the native anatomy in sports medicine cases. He said menisci need to be fixed in nearly every case, when possible, and that articular cartilage lesions progress in time.

“As people live longer, some of these tools we use to repair menisci, to resurface articular defects, and to maintain patella stability and knee stability pay dividends in the long term to maintain knee longevity and knee function,” he said.
