We are pleased to announce that Eran Beit Ner, MD, from Israel has been accepted as a fellow for this year’s EFORT Foundation Clinical Research Fellowship program. Beit Ner is a young and prominent orthopaedic surgeon who has a drive to progress with his academic career in knee arthroplasty. The Clinical Research Fellowship gives him an excellent opportunity to pursue his ambition.

One clinical research fellow is chosen for this program and visits a selected host center according to clinical research availability. The fellow is guided through the research process including research ethics from the development of a hypothesis to data collection, manuscript writing and presentation at national and international orthopaedic conferences. The focus will be around hip, knee or shoulder arthroplasty. The fellowship duration is 12 months and is funded by EFORT Foundation, which is possible through an educational grant from Medacta International.

This year’s Clinical Research Fellowship will be held in Central Manchester NHS Foundation Trust, Manchester, United Kingdom under the supervision of Leela C. Biant, FRCSED (Tr&Orth), MS. The research topic of the fellowship will be, “A personalized precision approach to surgery of the osteoarthritic knee.”
