HealthMe Technology was named winner of the Inaugural Innovation Exchange Pitch Competition at the Arthroscopy Association of North America Annual Meeting.

According to a press release, the Innovation Exchange is part of a partnership between AANA and AngelMD. The competition was designed to showcase technologies that have emerged and involve minimally invasive orthopedic care. Of the 30 total applicants, five finalists were selected by AANA physician leadership and AngelMD executives.

HealthMe Technology is a software platform developed to provide an online marketplace to physician offices, surgery centers and imaging centers to cater to self-pay patients. Michael T. Havig, MD, HealthMe’s founder and CEO, gave the presentation at AANA.

"As practicing physicians, we are 'in the trenches' of healthcare and know the problems faced by both patients and providers in today's healthcare environment,” Havig, told Healio.com/Orthopedics. “I created HealthMe to solve a problem I was seeing in my office and surgery center on a daily basis. Specifically, there are a growing number of self-pay patients who need transparent pricing and access to care. HealthMe provides doctors and their patients a comprehensive self-pay solution with both a public facing healthcare marketplace and their own private marketplace page on their website. I am grateful to AANA and AngelMD for creating the first Innovation Exchange to help showcase physician driven healthcare solutions." – by Monica Jaramillo
