Rothman Orthopaedic Institute physicians appointed to medical society leadership roles

Rothman Orthopaedic Institute announced three of its physicians have been appointed to leadership positions in state medical societies.
According to a press release, shoulder and elbow surgeon Frank G. Alberta, MD, was appointed president of the New Jersey Orthopaedic Society. Hand and wrist surgeon Asif M. Ilyas, MD, was named president of the Pennsylvania Orthopaedic Society, and spine surgeon Marc J. Levine, MD, was appointed president of the Medical Society of New Jersey.
“These appointments represent our commitment to advancing the field,” Alexander R. Vaccaro, MD, PhD, MBA, president of Rothman Orthopaedic Institute, Richard H. Rothman Professor and chair of the department of orthopedics, and professor of neurosurgery at Thomas Jefferson University and Hospitals, said in the release. “We take great pride in our rigorous approach to the three pillars of musculoskeletal care — clinical, academic and research. Frank, Asif and Marc deserve all the credit for taking these positions and the responsibility that comes with them. We couldn’t be prouder of them and look forward to assisting them in any way in their new roles.”
