Hospital for Special Surgery ranked as top hospital for orthopedics by US News & World Report

Hospital for Special Surgery, for the ninth consecutive year has been recognized by U.S. News & World Report as the top-ranked hospital in the country for orthopedics for the 2018 to 2019 year.

“We are fully committed to our singular focus on musculoskeletal health which allows us to not only provide the highest quality of care and value, but also to be a leader in the field through innovation,” Louis A. Shapiro, president and CEO of Hospital for Special Surgery, said in a press release from the hospital. “We are invested in helping people move better so they can live better.”

According to a press release from U.S. News & World Report, there were approximately 158 hospitals nationally ranked in at least one specialty. Overall, U.S. News & World Reports compared more than 4,500 medical centers around the country in 25 specialties, procedures and conditions. The publication also ranked 200 of the best regional hospitals in metropolitan areas and regions in the United States according to performance.
