Bioventus announced it has entered into an agreement with LifeLink Tissue Bank to co-develop a next generation bone allograft for spine and trauma surgery, according to a press release.

The tissue bank is a division of LifeLink Foundation Inc., which is headquartered in Tampa, Florida. The terms of the agreement between Bioventus and LifeLink were not disclosed.

“Orthobiologics will continue to evolve to meet the needs of patients, surgeons and payers and Bioventus is pleased to begin work on the next generation of bone graft solutions with LifeLink,” Tony Bihl, CEO of Bioventus, said in the release. “This approach is consistent with our strategy to grow sales of our existing products in the surgical orthobiologics space and expand our offering with new product innovations.”
