VIDEO: Orthopedic surgeons should partially release the medial collateral ligament in a tight knee
KOLOA, Hawaii – At Orthopedics Today Hawaii 2018, Nicholas A. Sgaglione, MD, said that when dealing with a tight, medial compartment for meniscal repair, meniscal allografting or articular cartilage surgery, orthopedic surgeons need to partially release the medial collateral ligament.
“I think this has significant value, in not only making the technique easier in terms of access and visualization, but also reducing the morbidity from articular scuffing in a tight knee,” he said.
