Arthrex to build new surgical device manufacturing facility

Arthrex announced plans to build a surgical device and implant manufacturing facility in Anderson County, South Carolina, according to a company press release.

“This investment is part of Arthrex’s global expansion plan to support the growth and development of new and innovative products that help surgeons treat their patients better,” Andy Owen, Arthrex vice president of manufacturing, said in the release. “It also represents our continued commitment to manufacturing quality products in the United States.”

Construction is scheduled to begin in the first quarter of 2018 and is expected to be completed by early 2019. The new facility in Anderson will be the company’s fourth manufacturing facility in the United States, with other facilities located in Ave Maria, Florida, and Santa Barbara and City of Industry, both in California.

According to the release, “The construction of the Anderson facility will not affect operations or employees in Southwest Florida or California, and Owen reiterated that Arthrex is committed to its future growth, job creation and investment in Southwest Florida.”
