PHILADELPHIA — At the Scoliosis Research Society Annual Meeting, A. Noelle Larson, MD, and Joshua M. Pahys, MD, discussed a study that compared outcomes of patients with early onset scoliosis and congenital rib fusions treated with either rib-based proximal anchors or spine-based proximal anchors. Investigators found increased kyphosis in children treated with the rib-based device. In addition, investigators found a better sagittal plane profile in patients treated with the spine-based devices.
