Stryker Corporation announced it has appointed Mary K. Brainerd as the new director for its board, effective Aug. 1, 2017.

According to a company press release, Brainerd was previously the president and chief executive officer of HealthPartners. She has also served on boards for Possis Medical Inc. and SurModics Inc.

“We are pleased to welcome Mary Brainerd to our board,” said Kevin A. Lobo, chairman and chief executive officer of Stryker Corporation, said in the release. “Mary’s vast experience leading a large and diverse health care delivery system will provide a new perspective and valuable insight for our board and company.”
