DePuy Synthes launches pre-sterilized, single-use kit for wrist fracture surgery

DePuy Synthes announced the launch of the Distal Radius Sterile Kit to treat wrist fractures at the combined congress of the Federation of European Societies for Surgery of the Hand and European Federation of Societies.
A pre-sterilized, single-use kit of instruments and implants, the Distal Radius Sterile Kit helps improve operating room efficiency, streamlines the procedure and eliminates sterilization costs, according to a company press release. The kit consists of one Variable Angle LCP Two-Column Volar Distal Radius Plate, a distribution of screw and the required instrumentation, the release noted, and is designed to drive repeatable, more consistent procedures.
“The Distal Radius Sterile Kit is an example of how we are responding to customer needs by providing value beyond the implant,” I. V. Hall, global franchise leader, DePuy Synthes Trauma, said in the release. “By combining our market-leading plate and screw solution with single-use instrumentation, we are supporting our customers ranging from academic medical centers to community hospitals in providing high-quality care in an efficient, cost-effective way.”
