DePuy Synthes announces new revision fixed-bearing tibial base, cemented stem for knee surgeries

VIENNA — At the 18th EFORT Annual Congress, DePuy Synthes announced the Europe, Middle East and Africa launch of the first Attune knee revision options, the Attune Revision Fixed Bearing Tibial Base and the 14 mm x 50 mm Cemented Stem.

“DePuy Synthes worked with renowned experts around the world to develop the Attune Knee System,” Rajit Kamal, global knee platform leader of DePuy Synthes Joint Reconstruction, said in a company press release. “The Attune Revision Fixed Bearing Tibial Base and Cemented Stem were developed to address more complex clinical needs and expand treatment options for patients, broadening [the] DePuy Synthes portfolio of revision solutions.”

According to the release, the revision fixed-bearing tibial base is compatible with either fixed-bearing posterior-stabilized or cruciate-retaining tibial inserts and incorporates the Logiclock tibial base locking mechanism that is designed to enable enhanced kinematics, stability and wear reduction. The Attune Revision Fixed Bearing Tibial Base can be used in combination with the company’s 14 mm x 50 mm cemented stem that can be added intraoperatively at the discretion of the surgeon for patients who may need supplemental fixation, according to the release.
