SAN DIEGO — At the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons Annual Meeting, Louis F. McIntyre, MD, discussed the following seven components of employee contracts orthopedic surgeons need to understand: parties in the contract; duties outlined in the contract; position obligations; employee obligations; compensation; term; and termination. He said orthopedic surgeons should look for the best value possible and contracts should make it difficult for hospitals or practices to get rid of them.
