HealthpointCapital announced the appointment of Mike Mogul as its new managing director.

According to a company press release, Mogul was formerly the president and chief executive officer of DJO Global. Under his leadership, DJO was a market leader in share and growth in nonoperative orthopedic medical devices, as well as the fastest growing manufacturer of total joint implants and consumer sports medicine products. Before taking the position at DJO, Mogul was group president of orthopedics for the Stryker Corporation. He also served as the managing director of Stryker’s divisional segments in Germany, Austria and Switzerland during his 22 years of employment with the company.

“Mike will bring [chief executive officer] CEO-level medical device leadership experience to our portfolio companies and has extensive global relationships in the musculoskeletal sector where he has spent the last 28 years,” John Foster, chairman of HealthpointCapital, said in the release. “We are looking forward to pairing his talents with our experienced investment team that is actively investing and mentoring companies in this sector.”
