Kern Singh, MD, launches Minimally Invasive Spine Study Group
Midwest Orthopaedics at Rush announced the co-director of its Minimally Invasive Spine Institute, Kern Singh, MD, has founded a nonprofit organization called the Minimally Invasive Spine Study Group.
According to a press release, the Minimally Invasive Spine Study Group (MISSG) is a multi-institutional 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization to promote research and advancement in the field of minimally invasive spine surgery. The MISSG manages an online patient registry that contains data from 3,000 unique patients treated using minimally invasive approaches. The registry can be accessed and added to by members of the organization.

“The MISSG is an international organization dedicated to advancement of minimally invasive spine surgery that is truly the first of its kind,” Singh said in the release. “This collaborative effort between the world’s leading minimally invasive spine surgeons will revolutionize the way in which we conduct minimally invasive spine research.”
An informational session on the MISSG will be held in mid-April at the annual meeting of the International Society for the Advancement of Spine Surgery in Boca Raton, Fla.
