Every year more applicants are encouraged to take the Exam of the European Board of Orthopaedics and Traumatology (EBOT) for this prestigious qualification, which is helping greater numbers of EBOT fellows progress in their careers. Here are the details of the 2017 EBOT Interim Exam and the EBOT exam.

EBOT Interim Exam: Tuesday 11 April 2017

The Interim Exam is open to all trainees and residents at all hospitals in Europe, subject to prior registration. More information and all relevant links are available at www.ebotexam.org/interim.

EBOT Exam

  • Written part/section I: Thursday 8 June 2017
    The written part of the 2017 EBOT exam will be completed online and consist of 100 multiple-choice questions. The exam will be held in different examination centers in Europe.
    Application is now open through www.ebotexam.org.
  • Oral part/section II in English: Saturday and Sunday 7 and 8 October 2017 in the United Kingdom
    The oral examination consists of five sessions that last 30 minutes each and will take place on 7 and 8 October 2017 in the United Kingdom.
  • Oral part/section II in Spanish: Saturday and Sunday 4 and 5 November 2017 in Spain
    The oral examination in Spanish is open to all Spanish trainees in their last year of training and subject to approval by the Spanish Orthopaedic and Trauma Society, SECOT.

Candidates must be successful in section I to be eligible to proceed to section II of the EBOT exam.
