Kern Singh, MD, promoted to full professor of orthopedic surgery at Rush University Medical Center

MidWest Orthopedics at Rush announced Kern Singh, MD, co-director of the Minimally Invasive Spine Institute at the center, was promoted to full professor in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at Rush University Medical Center.

Singh, a spine, back and neck orthopedic surgeon, joined Midwest Orthopaedics at Rush and Rush University Medical Center in 2005. According to a press release, Singh is a leader in minimally invasive spinal surgery and teaches techniques in this field to neurosurgeons and spinal surgeons from around the world. Singh has also helped design new instrumentation for the minimally invasive spinal surgery.

According to the release, he has published more than 300 peer-reviewed papers and book chapters and has been an editor for eight spine surgery textbooks. He was recently appointed chair of the spine program committee for the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons Annual Meeting from 2017 to 2020.

Singh is a member of the Spine Surgery Today Editorial Board.
