VIDEO: Barrack talks about socioeconomics and total joint replacement outcomes
LAHAINA, Hawaii — At Orthopedics Today Hawaii 2017, Robert L. Barrack, MD, discussed socioeconomic factors and the outcomes of total joint replacement.
He said results of studies indicate socioeconomic factors likely affect complication rates, readmission rates and patient perception of total joint arthroplasty. In addition, he said patient demographics are as important as implant or technique factors, which are more often the focus of research.
