Bioventus has appointed Michael Minogue to its board of managers.

“We are pleased to have Michael Minogue join our board as we continue to grow Bioventus,” Tony Bihl, Bioventus chief executive officer, said in a press release. “His leadership at Abiomed, bringing life changing medical technologies through development and into the health care markets globally, will be invaluable to our mission to be a global leader in orthobiologics. We look forward to working with Michael as we continue to execute on our growth strategies.”

Minogue was on the executive board of directors for AdvaMed and was chairman of the Medical Device Industry Consortium. He also served on the board of LifeCell Corporation and is a co-founder and chairman of the medTech and BioTech Veterans Program, according to the press release.

Evan Melrose recently stepped down from the Bioventus Board. According to the release, Melrose served on the board from the inception of Bioventus in 2012.

“We thank Evan for all of his contributions to our success these past four years on Board, including his tireless work on our compensation committee and his insights on biologics that have helped us shape the company,” Bihl said.
