Rush University Medical Center has named Nikhil N. Verma, MD, orthopedic surgeon and sports medicine physician at Midwest Orthopaedics at Rush, the new director of the division of sports medicine for the department of orthopedic surgery.

According to the release, Verma has annually performed more than 600 surgical procedures and is a team physician for the Chicago White Sox, Chicago Bulls and Nazareth Academy, Lagrange Park. He is reportedly also an associate editor for the Arthroscopy Journal and is a member of the editorial board for the Journal of Knee Surgery.

Verma has reportedly been annually elected as one of the “Best doctors in America” since 2007 and was voted as the top 10% to 15% of the Top Doctors in America by U.S. News & World Report. He has also been reportedly elected by the president elect of the American Orthopedic Society for Sports Medicine to be the program chairman for the 2018 year.
