In this video from Open Operating Theatre, Ibrahim Obeid, MD, of Bordeaux University Hospital, France, manages cervical spondylotic myelopathy (CSM) in a patient through C4 anterior cervical corpectomy with fusion. This approach is related to the ongoing debate about whether CSM is best treated by anterior decompression and fusion or by posterior decompression, and the various techniques that can be used. Importantly, combined front/back procedures are usually unnecessary in these cases.

The video is a teaching tool surgeons can view to prepare for surgery or use as refresher on the surgical technique and indications for this surgery.
