The National Neurosurgery Quality Outcomes Database has been renamed the Quality Outcomes Database, according to a press release from NeuroPoint Alliance.

NeuroPoint Alliance (NPA) manages the registry and initially enrolled patients 4 years ago. Since then, the National Neurosurgery Quality Outcomes Databases has reportedly expanded beyond its neurosurgery origins and boundaries set by its name. According to the release, the removal of “neurosurgery” from the registry’s name, will also resonate with other specialties and third-party payers.

“NAP is looking at many partnerships and registries that will accrue data beyond the sphere pf neurosurgery, and we wanted the brand to focus on what we do — collect quality data — rather than who we originally started collecting for,” Robert Harbaugh, MD, FAANS, NPA chair, said in the release.
