In an education and research-driven medical organization such as EFORT, the abstract management process is directly linked to the will to provide worthy scientific guidance to experts and the opportunity to increase the share of knowledge. With the new online submission platform, EFORT wants to grant freedom and flexibility to abstract authors to prevent endless communication exchanges and reduce data processing errors. Authors can directly manage the content of their abstracts until the deadline date and automatically receive instant confirmation of any new submissions or amendments.

Why submit an abstract?

  • Make your research contribute to the leading international knowledge of orthopaedic surgeons.
  • Present results that can potentially have a significant impact on the practice of other colleagues.
  • Provide attendees with the opportunity to learn about emerging fields in orthopaedics.
  • Start open dialogue among colleagues to revise research concepts and strategies for treatments.
  • Gain recognition among your peers by having your work selected for presentation.
  • Feel connected to the orthopaedic scientific community.
  • Meet other experts who face problems similar to yours and explore real solutions together.
  • Learn from experts how to develop your findings into important research publications.

Which kind of abstract to submit and how?

If you have an original, previously unpublished work you want to share with the largest orthopaedic community across Europe, you only have to let us know! Different types of presentations are available depending on the scientific purpose you want to give to your research.

Free Papers

Abstracts in this category are expected to have high scientific quality and should correspond to complete studies with outstanding results and innovative conclusions. The selected abstracts will be presented orally in sessions embedded in the overall program of the meeting.

Posters

Summaries in this category can be based on preliminary results and correspond to short studies or trials, however, a high level of science is expected. Accepted abstracts will be presented at the Congress as wall posters and discussed during an informal session within the exhibition area.

Clinical Cases

Abstracts submitted as Clinical Cases should refer to a single case report presenting scientific value for the use of a specific treatment or technique. Clinical Cases selected will become short oral presentations in specific educational hubs within the exhibition area.

Videos

Abstracts submitted as Videos address a unique treatment or technique of scientific interest that can best be evaluated by visualizing the procedure and results. Videos will be presented at the Congress in a dedicated media area.

Nurses

All abstracts submitted under this category are reviewed for presentation during the full-day program of our Nurse Day. This is part of sessions for all kinds of health care providers held on Wednesday the 4th of June.
