EOS imaging announced the appointment of Michael J. Dormer as chairman of the board of directors.

In 1992, Dormer became president of DePuy Inc. and led the company through its IPO in 1996 and its subsequent acquisition by Johnson & Johnson. He most recently returned to Johnson & Johnson as the chairman of the Medical Devices and Diagnostics division, and has also served on the executive committee of AdvaMed.

“Since he joined the board earlier this year, we have already benefitted from Michael’s strategic guidance, and we welcome him in his expanded role as chairman,” Marie Meynadier, chief executive officer of EOS imaging, stated in a company press release. “Michael’s broad experience in the medical device industry, which includes significant knowledge of the orthopedic market, will be valuable as we continue to drive adoption of the EOS imaging system. He also has strong international experience and industry contacts, which we will leverage as we accelerate our growth in Asia and the United States.”
