The European Federation of National Associations of Orthopaedics and Traumatology presented its annual awards at the Opening Ceremony of the 14th EFORT Congress in Istanbul.
The three best free papers were:
- Stéphane Pelet, Canada (gold);
- Björn Peter Rossbach, Germany (silver); and
- Marcus Landgren, Sweden (bronze).
The Jaques Duparc Award for the ten best free posters were presented to:
- Scott Evans, England
- Ersin Kuyucu, Turkey
- F. Thomas D. Kaplan, USA
- Roman Nowak, Poland
- Torsten Prietzel, Germany
- Stephen Ellis Graves, Australia
- Anne Lübbeke, Switzerland
- Vishal Patel, UK
- Stéphane Pelet, Canada
- Mark Thomas Roger Gaden, UK
The awards ceremony also featured the presentation of the:
- Allied Professions Award to Rasa Valaviciene, Lithuania;
- EFORT Tribology Award to Tiago Barbosa, Portugal; and
- Industry Award to CeramTec, OrthoPediatrics and Bayer.
