ApiFix Ltd recently received CE mark for its minimally invasive treatment system for Adolescent Idiopathic Scoliosis.

According to a press release, the ApiFix Adolescent Idiopathic Scoliosis (AIS) correction system minimizes risk, pain and scarring for the patient, decreases recovery time and costs less than the standard procedure. The system uses two screws to attach a small implant to the center of the main spinal curvature. After surgery, the patient undergoes physical therapy treatment where the implant reinforces the correction.

ApiFix also reports that it has successfully completed a pilot clinical trial in Europe where implants were executed in patients suffering from AIS.

“The results demonstrate the implant’s safety and success in correcting the curvature,” Uri Arnin, CEO of ApiFix, stated in a company press release. “Within about 3 months, we achieved an impressive result, while maintaining spinal flexibility.”
