Orthofix International N.V. announced the appointment of Kathleen T. Regan as interim chair of the board, succeeding Randy Thurman.

The same company press release noted Regan has also been appointed chair of the board’s Nominating and Governance Committee, which reduces the number of board directors from nine to eight.

“Kathy is an exceptional leader in the healthcare industry and we have appreciated her financial, strategic and general business expertise and experience on the Orthofix Board,” Brad Mason, president and chief executive officer of Orthofix, stated in the release.

Regan has been advising and investing in health care companies for 25 years. In 2010, she became a venture partner of Radius Venture. Prior to that, she was the executive vice president of Keystone Dental Inc., served as a consultant to Warburg Pincus LLC, was a senior managing director and director of healthcare investment banking at Sun Trust Robinson Humphrey LLC, and was a managing director at Freedom Securities Tucker Anthony. She currently serves on the board of trustees of Lutheran HealthCare.
